goaldigger	I'm sorry to report but after calling around and looking around on the net it seems people can get MUCH better rates using hotels.com and such on their own than if the SEs got a bloc of rooms. There are two MAJOR events in the city that weekend, IMF/World Bank Fall mtg and something is at the convention center so rooms in DC are either getting booked up or pretty $$$ so your best bet is to look in Crystal City, Rosslyn, Arlington, Alexandria and Pentagon City (and do so sooner than later). Use sites like tripadvisor.com to get read on what hotels are like and their surrounding neighborhoods.
